UKS2 WW1 Workshop November 2024

The Upper Juniors were emersed in their World War One topic with a 'Great War Workshop' experience. The children came face to face with a soldier from 1914, looking back at the origins of the war, as well as the experiences soldiers and the general public would have had in this era.

First hand experiences included a first aid course on bandages and stretchers, making 'soldier biscuits', designing propaganda posters, alongside swearing an oath of allegiance to the cause!

Later, events took an active turn, as the children experienced looking at artefacts from the war, as well as practicing throwing grenades and charging cavalry-style with replica bayonets.
